Inside the olive is what we call the vegetation water. During milling, nature releases hydroxytyrosol in its full potency, with most of it transferring to this water and only small amounts remaining in the virgin oils.
In recent years, it has been shown that, beyond oleic acid, hydroxytyrosol is actually the compound that provides the greatest benefits to our health. In fact, recent clinical studies comparing virgin olive oils with high hydroxytyrosol content to those with very low levels conclude that the former offer significantly greater advantages.
Natural hydroxytyrosol helps maintain the integrity of the skin’s lipid mantle, reduces oxidation-induced inflammation, and minimizes irritation and redness in sensitive skin.
What has our team done?
Building on this knowledge, our team designed and developed a clean and physical technology to incorporate this molecule into an optimal composition of fatty acids beneficial for the skin, providing a truly unique advantage.
This entire process has been developed in Spain, working with local farmers, olives, and scientists.
Upcycling
Natural hydroxytyrosol is an upcycled ingredient.
By responsibly utilizing a new fraction of the olive under the upcycling concept, we provide added value to farmers and contribute to greater sustainability and environmental respect.
